Charlie grew up in Peoria, Il and moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area where he attended the University of Texas at Arlington as a finance major. He worked as a cold caller while attending college and ultimately became a stockbroker with Dean Witter, Reynolds, ultimately earning a National Sales Director’s Award given only to those achieving the highest level of service and performance to clients. In 1997 he and his family started a small business, Kalona Furniture, in Kalona, IA, which was sold in 2006. He then served as Vice President, Business Development for a large general contractor, Miron Construction, where he learned about project sales and bidding, negotiating contracts, material and labor procurement and management, job site supervision and safety, as well as permitting.
In 2009, Charlie founded his current firm, CG Hanson, Inc., a full-service real estate investment and development company based in Iowa City, IA. He brings a lifelong investor’s focus to driving the highest level of value and returns both for his investors and for the communities he operates within.
